License Keys
A license key is a single-use game license. The buyer owns it as a use-bound token and redeems it once into the platform it's for — Steam, Epic, PSN, and others. Once redeemed, it's consumed.
How It Works
- You list a game with per-platform inventory and a redemption link — no minting up front.
- A player buys with a card; a use-bound license is minted to their wallet automatically.
- The player redeems through your redemption link. FlipKey.gg verifies on-chain that they own the license before your key is delivered.
- Your game server receives an activation webhook confirming the redemption.
- The license is consumed — it can't be redeemed again.
Use-Bound by Design
A license is transfer-restricted — the buyer can never trade or resell it on a secondary market; the only paths are redemption or a refund. So a license can't be flipped or laundered the way grey-market keys are.
After redemption, the buyer holds an ordinary platform key. Like any key, it could be shared or resold — FlipKey.gg doesn't control a platform's keys once delivered.
Every Key Has a Name
The difference from the grey market is traceability. On a site like G2A a stolen key is anonymous — a publisher can tell it's theirs, maybe which distribution batch, but not who bought it or how. Every FlipKey.gg sale is a direct, identity-attached sale: each key is tied to the buyer's wallet, the redeemer, and the exact card purchase in FlipKey.gg's records. So a leaked or charged-back key can be traced back to the purchase and the person behind it, and revoked through your platform's key tools.
Best For
Direct game-key sales where every key stays traceable and an unredeemed license can't be laundered.
Promotional bundles & the secondary market
The same loop powers your storefront, not just in-game sinks. Pair a game license with a promotional bundle — the key plus a tradable cosmetic or item-ticket — so the buyer gets more value at full price and you never discount the key itself.
Those bundled items are designed to be tradable on our marketplace. When one resells, it does two things for you: it puts your game in front of a new buyer (resale as marketing reach), and the royalty you set flows back to you on the sale. The royalty is yours; FlipKey.gg takes only its standard platform fee on the sale — the same fee model as a primary sale, never a stake in the item itself.
Give the items away in a giveaway or attach them to a sale; either way, once they're tradable they become a standing, player-driven revenue stream instead of a one-time cost.
