Your keys never touch FlipKey. They live in a key station: a small
service that hands one key to one verified buyer at redemption. Three ways to run one
(compare them in the docs):
Hosted
$20/year founding price
GameLicense.org runs it for you. No server. Key redemptions only, no freebies.
Open your droplet's Console, paste it, press Enter. Your settings and keys stay where they are; the previous code is kept beside the install. Hidden so it's safe on stream; works for minutes.
Get a hosted station — $20/year founding price, paid upfront
Don't want to run a server? Our partner GameLicense.org hosts one for you at
yourstudio.gamelicense.org, with its own database and upload login. Export your keys any time and move to
your own install whenever you're ready.
This is GameLicense's service, not FlipKey's: GameLicense bills you directly, FlipKey never holds your keys,
and you use a hosted station at your own risk. Hosted stations handle key redemptions only; free claim drops and
items that unlock in-game content without a key need your own install.
What happens: after you subscribe, come back to this page
and create your station in about a minute. Have a promo code from GameLicense? Enter it at checkout.

Create your hosted station
GameLicense runs it at the name you pick, with its own database and upload login. Export your keys any time
and move to your own install whenever you're ready. GameLicense's service, not FlipKey's; used at your own risk.
Key redemptions only.
.gamelicense.org
What happens: GameLicense starts a station at that address with your
FlipKey credentials, we point your sales at it, and you get an upload page for keys. About a minute. Owner or admin only.

Keys at rest
Hosted by
GameLicense.org (partner) — used at your own risk; FlipKey never holds your keys
Hosted is the head start, not the home. When your own backend is up: on the upload page click
Export to download every unused key as CSV (they are retired there the moment the file is served),
import them with npm run import-keys, update the redemption URL on your listings, then shut this station down.
Install on your own server — about 10 minutes, no Linux experience needed
Your own key station on a $6/month server you control, and nobody else's box. One command sets up
everything: Docker, HTTPS, the starter kit, your FlipKey settings and the link test.
Create a DigitalOcean droplet on plain Ubuntu (latest LTS; the $6 plan is enough).
The installer brings Docker with it. Any Ubuntu or Debian server works.
Pick an address for it, like redeem.yourgame.com. The installer tells you the exact DNS record to add.
Give the droplet about five minutes, then open its Console (it says "agent not installed" until the first boot finishes), paste the command below, press Enter, and answer two questions (plus an optional Steam key).
Owner only. Export its keys first; its reports are refused from then on.

Hidden so it's safe on stream. Works once and expires in
60 minutes; getting a new one cancels this one. Owner or admin only.
Key Station Plus
A key station hands out keys. Plus is for studios whose game backend can put an item
straight into a player's account, no key involved. It unlocks freebies on license sales, items
you sell, creator giveaways and watch-drops. License sales and beta passes don't need it.
On your backend, handle the signed item_ticket.redeem event and ack it. The
Watch-Drop SDK (v0.2+) does both in a few lines.
See Webhooks for the event.
Run the test. We send a test grant marked test: true; your server acks it, and Plus turns on.
